Description

Wrecked’s November lineup defines itself with outstanding hypnotic techno. DJ Hockey lands from Vancouver. The PPRZ Records co-owner self-describes as a “rave sprite with rave spirit,” but if that’s the case, this sprite is living in a dark forest indeed. Hockey’s grasp of cerebral, twisting and frankly ominous techno is of the highest order. His sets unfurl with elegant strangeness and a sense of vertiginous instability that is truly mesmerizing. Antenes matches this energy. The NY stalwart has been a cult favorite for years, putting in serious time with the Bunker NY crew, the larger L.I.E.S. cohort and more. A generational affinity for techno’s elemental power and boldly experimental quality is apparent from any of her releases, mixes or live recordings. Antenes’ mastery and agility as a DJ speaks to her years of near-monastic devotion to the dark arts. Ron Like Hell completes the bill, making this room functionally unmissable. As a resident and co-organizer of Wrecked, he commands the room like few can. His techno sets keep developing in their power, vision and precisely-rendered psychedelia. Dorisburg is a name synonymous with dubby, vaporous groove. The Swedish producer has a singular command of the breezy and hypnotic, the airy and deep. His sets fizz and breathe with gentle humidity, all the while drawing you into the music’s deep, inky core. These are truly heady dives into a softly pulsating funk, with the layered textures of a rainforest a dusk. It’s a perfect fit for STUDIO. Oakland’s Wonja makes her debut. A major force in the Bay Area’s thriving electronic underground, Wonja’s curveball approach deploys a careful, considered touch to craft blends as startling as they are clear-eyed and cohesive. Wonja brings a fresh vision, an uninhibited weirdness and a joyful bounce to the floor that you didn’t know you needed. Succubass returns to seal the deal. The Seattle artist and STUDIO regular hits hard, with rave-laced grooves for the true freaks. Her run in the room has been an outstanding one. Succubass threads the needle between vital, floor filling exuberance and an exploratory depth of field that draws the imagination in. ■ No photos or videos ■ Ticket purchase does not guarantee entrance ■ No phone use on the dancefloor ■ The dance floor is for dancing, not conversation ■ No glowing/flashing clothes or items ■ Respect other people's space, no shuffling ■ Consent is mandatory ■ Zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or any form of discrimination ■ Take care of each other, alert our staff if somebody isn't feeling well ■ Violating the house rules will result in removal PLEASE REVIEW HOUSE POLICIES AT LINK BELOW
