After a year of melting minds and eardrums at underground venues in Tokyo, Acid Gakko touches down in NYC for one night at THE END featuring all of our favorite ingredients: fearless selectors from all corners of the globe, multi-genre eclecticism with a carefully crafted dancefloor narrative, hard-edged live techno dripping with analog-synth goodness and drum-machine madness, and bespoke visuals to guide and nourish the inner mind's eye. Lineup: ARTM (LIVE) sheppy (LIVE) Christian Tokyo Violeta Telavia (S1 Brooklyn) baby-g (Liminal Collective) VJ: VIO ARTM Born in Ukraine and based in Brooklyn, the DJ and live artist ARTM stands out as one of the artists pushing cutting-edge live electronic music in New York, both through his own work and as the founder and curator of the Activate party series and podcast. With notable past performances at legendary Brooklyn events like Fourth World and Synthicide, ARTM’s versatility as a performer shines in versatile sets of electro, techno, and bass music. Under his previous moniker Svavillya, he has released three-EPs of forward-thinking club music loaded with memorable and melancholy melodies, futuristic sound design, and menacing low-slung grooves. sheppy (LIVE) A multi-capable DJ and live performer, sheppy’s style is defined by a preference for rough drum machine grooves and thick analog synth lines. After studying sound design and synthesis in college, Mark honed his performance skills in the clubs and basements of Brooklyn before relocating to Tokyo in 2022, where he founded Acid Gakko. As a frequent guest DJ at Circus Tokyo for the Ensite series of parties, and a regular live performer in Tokyo with hardware drum machines and synthesizers. Christian Tokyo Christian Tokyo is a New York Native DJ and multi-disciplinary creative of both South Korean and Nigerian descent. Born in Harlem and raised in the South Bronx - the birthplace of the modern day DJ; Tokyo takes his eclectic upbringing and cultural understanding directly to your sound system. Having been featured on radio platforms (NTS, Rinse, & Lot Radio) while brushing shoulders with newer and legendary acts (the Martinez Brothers, James Blake, Cinthie & more) Christian sets his sights on the global stage. Violeta Telavia (S1 Brooklyn) Violeta Telavia is a transatlantic duo consisting of producer and engineer extraordinaire Tim9o9 (S1 Brooklyn) and Felix Roth, organizer and resident DJ of the popular ViolendGroove party series operating in the Austrian hubs of Vienna and Graz. With a shared background in production, engineering, and DJing spanning genres from drum and bass to hard groove, Violeta Telavia bring a no-compromises breakneck aesthetic to their productions and DJ sets. Their debut EP lands soon alongside releases by Frankie Bones and Adam Hadari on S1 Brooklyn. baby-g (Liminal Collective) Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, baby-g is one of the new wave of DJs bringing fresh energy to the underground club scene in New York. She is a co-founder of Liminal Collective, an enigmatic DJ collective organizing events at storied Brooklyn venues like TBA, Trans-Pecos, and Eris since late 2022. With a bouncy yet dark signature sound, baby-g excels at a modern and eclectic mixing style, weaving in varied sub-genres of house and techno to create moving, transcendental narratives.
