Feel free to bring pictures or offerings for the (non-denominational) altar if you feel called. Thammudu (he/they) is a Brooklyn-based sound artist whose work as a DJ weaves together ambient, experimental, and club music. They co-produced Matters of Ascension (TT, 2020), a six-track EP that interrogates the commodification of diasporic identity amidst the fraught realities of an imagined homeland. Their mixes have been featured on internet radio platforms, including NTS, n10.as, and Threads. Currently, their practice centers on building queer of color spaces for healing, mischief, and mutual aid. Jalpari (they/them) is a music project conceived by Akul Kaul Narang. Their DJ sets attempt to tap into sonic androgyny: manipulating sound in a way where people feel moved to exist outside the binaries. They tend to mix with a wide-range of selections by focusing on sound design as a tool to create organic atmospheres. Jalpari recently had their debut music release titled ‘Brown Myst’ — an EP that showcases their fascination with electroacoustic instruments. Since their move to Brooklyn, they co-curate Supraliminal, a multimodal event series that highlights queer POC experimental electronic artists. Priyanha (she/they) is an artist and community death doula based in Brooklyn, NY. Her practice expands collective approaches to community care at the intersection of healthcare systems, spiritual well-being, and creative expression. Their current work includes creating containers for grief, death, and creativity, such as community altars, grief support sessions, and art-based processing spaces. Priyanha’s work centers collective liberation values with an understanding of the systemic violence that impacts end-of-life experiences for People of the Global Majority. Her offerings aim to create a non-judgmental, safe, and empowering place to explore death, loss, artistic freedom, and authenticity. Nena (she/her/ella) is a queer Chicana artist and restorative justice practitioner who believes in revolution through collective healing. She started painting as a way to reconnect to her childhood joys and explore forms of connection and expression. Nena creates spaces to hold meaningful and intentional room for people to connect with themselves, find a safe place to share their artistic expressions, and explore healing practices in community."
